The Director Hanson - Georgian Copper Printing / Embossing Block
The Director Hanson is a wonderful very unique antique printing block
He is made with fine copper strips punched into a piece of carved oak wood.
Detailed lengths of intricate designs on a repeat.
Each end of the designs have a very sharp pin,
Hanson has prominent tool chisel markings all over his wood, with scooped out centre parts for easy grip for the user. All the years of wear on his wood has made this tactile and appealing to hold.
Some are ink stamped with stock / pattern numbers on the wood.
Flat bas allow each piece to positioned upright on on its side
With these thin block of wood you have the creative freedom to use with ink pad, with clay, wax or even leather.
